Caller ID display identifies the person who is calling you when receiving a call and identifies you, when your are making calls to others.
For incoming calls from traditional phones (PSTN) the callers number will be displayed on your phone. When making calls to traditional phones (PSTN) your number will be displayed on their phone. If you have multiple numbers you can use caller id control to decide which of your numbers you would like presented to the called party, or you can restrict your number altogether.
Even better when making and receiving calls between other VOIP users you can send your complete name (or pseudonym) and phone number.
